Cancún, Mexico—The world’s economic growth and social welfare depend on the sustainable management of the world’s water resources in the context of climate change, according to a statement issued by the Global Water Partnership (GWP). The statement was delivered by GWP Chair Dr. Letita A. Obeng to the high level session of the world climate change conference.

With the support of the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of the Environmental Protection, the High-Level Round Table Meeting was jointly organized by GWP China and the Swiss Development Cooperation Agency (SDC) in Beijing, on April 8, 2010. The co-sponsors include The Nature Conservancy, UNESCO Office Beijing, UNICEF Office for China, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR) and Chinese National Committee on Large Dams.

The Ministry of Water Resources of China officially replied to the 《Survey Report on Rural Drinking Water Safety and Water Saving Ecological Campus of Rural Middle and Primary Schools》developed by the GWP China Shaanxi.

The Steering Committee (SC) of the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) is responsible for the strategic direction of the GWP-C Programme.

GWP membership is open to all organizations involved in water and water resource management. Currently GWP-SEA network has over 360 member organizations in the 9 SEA Countries : Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippine, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
