In 2013 UN-Water initiated an expert consultation process where UN-Water’s 31 UN-members and 36 international Partners, including GWP, came together to analyze what role water could have in the Post-2015 Development Agenda. The result is a joint paper with technical advice.
On March 4, 2013, Mr. Zheng Rugang, the Coordinator of GWP China was invited to discuss about the participation of GWP China in the UK-China Cooperation Project “Working with China to Support Sustainable Water Resources Management in Developing Countries” with Ms. Wu Lin, the Project Manager of UK DFID China.
The Conference was held at VNIIGiM named by A.N.Kostyakov (Moscow) on the 8th of November 2013. The Conference was organized by OAO “Vodstroy”, the Russian Union of Water and Land Reclamation Professionals, VNIIGiM named by A.N.Kostyakov (Moscow) and the Scientific-Information Center of ICWC (NWO EECCA Secretariat, Tashkent). This event was supported by GWP CACENA and UNECE (through the RF grant).
Encouraged by regional developments, Mali initiated the process to implement IWRM. This was done in three stages: 1) a project team and a Steering Committee were set up to define the management and steering framework of the project, 2) a situation analysis was developed and discussed with broad stakeholder groups and 3) a provisional Action Plan was prepared. This case study illustrates the key moments and events of the process of elaboration of the IWRM.
The sixth SADC Multi-Stakeholder Water Dialogue was held on 1-2 October 2013 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka, Zambia. The dialogue was sponsored by DANIDA and other cooperating partners (German Cooperation, Australian Aid, UK Aid).

Within the framework of the Water, Climate and Development Programme, GWP South America is guiding a pilot initiative to put in practice transectoral cooperation to generate resilience to climate change and water security in the Santa Eulalia sub-basin in Peru.
