Interview with James Dalton, Water Management Advisor at IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature)

Institutional Partners are the basis on which the GWP network operates. Becoming a Partner brings with it several benefits to get the most out of the GWP network.

GWP CEE was founded in 1998 to foster integrated water resources management (IWRM) which is defined as the coordinated development and management of water, land, and related resources in order to maximise economic and social welfare without compromising the sustainability of vital environmental systems.

In this section you can find information that is fundamental to doing communications work in the GWP network. The most important item here is the GWP Visual Brand which, if followed, ensures that our diverse and semi-autonomous network communicates that we are a single partnership.

Global Water Partnership China Hebei, abbreviation: GWP China Hebei. It was founded in October 2003 and since then has been played as a network which promotes IWRM and sustainable use of water resources.

GWP West Africa played a key role in a series of meetings that agreed on a training module for water science for higher degrees – bachelors, masters and doctorates – throughout Francophone Africa.

The protection of the water resources of the Yellow River Basin, emergency response to environmental pollution and case studies of emergency response to water pollution in other countries were the main topics at a workshop on Water Resources Protection and Emergency Response Mechanisms to Water Pollution of the Yellow River.

The Technical Advisory committee, the GWP-Cmr and the GWP-CAfTAC secretariats had a meeting on the 27th and 28th of September in Limbe (Cameroon). The main objective was to plan and prepare the launching of GWP-Central Africa (GWP-CAf). The event shall take place on the 29th of November 2008. Inputs were also made on the draft of the 2009-2013 regional strategy.

Le Comité technique Consultatif du GWP pour l’Afrique centrale s’est réuni les 27 et 28 septembre à Limbe (Cameroun) dans le but de préparer et organiser le lancement du Partenariat régional de l’eau pour l’Afrique Centrale (GWP-CAf). Il a été décidé que cet évènement se ferait le 29 novembre 2008. Cette réunion a également été l’occasion pour les participants de procéder à la relecture pour actualisation de certains documents de travail. A titre d’exemple le draft de la stratégie régionale 2009-2013 a été étoffé.
