Coca-Cola Hellas wins Gold Award at this year’s Hellenic Responsible Business Awards for the Zero Drop water resources protection program in Folegandros implemented by GWP-Med, and for the digital platform Zero Waste HoReCa Hub, implemented by the Ecological Recycling Society.
The draft WEFE Nexus Strategy which aims to assist countries and stakeholders in improving the integration of policy and management frameworks and instruments across WEFE sectors and spatial components throughout the Mediterranean, was discussed during the 5th Mediterranean Water Forum in Tunisia.
The 8th Africa Water Week (AWW8) and the 6th Africa Conference on Sanitation and Hygiene (AfricaSan6) are being jointly organised this year as a virtual conference on 22-26 November. Joined together as the Africa Water and Sanitation Week (AWSW), the conference is convened by the African Ministers Council on Water (AMCOW) in conjunction with the African Union Commission and organised with other development partners.
Under the GEF/UNEP MedProgramme, a Nexus Policy Dialogue for Lebanon based on a Nexus Assessment, led by GWP-Med aims to promote tangible solutions contributing to the security of water, energy and food resources, while protecting valuable ecosystems and their functions.
Participants in the 1st Multi-Stakeholders Consultation Meeting on the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus organised on the framework of the "GEF/UNEP MedProgramme: Enhancing Environmental Security", acknowledged the need for a better integration of approaches related to the four sectors, including through the establishment of a systematic dialogue among the relevant actors.
In April 2023, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) issued an Open Call to Caribbean Journalists, Content Creators, Media Practitioners, and other interested persons to produce a high-quality 5-minute video on Integrated Water and Wastewater Management (IWWM).
As an official intergovernmental observer to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and a core partner of COP27’s Water Pavilion, GWP actively prepared for this year’s COP by promoting discussion of the vital role of good water management for increasing climate resilience throughout the year.
