GWP-C in its continued efforts to support Caribbean countries in the sustainable management of their water resources has created a Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) model that can be adopted by water-scarce communities.
Dedication to consultation and communication paid off in 2010 as policy makers established and consolidated a relationship with researchers in the Challenge Programme on Water and Food (CPWF) in the Limpopo River Basin.
In 2004, with help from the Zambia Water Partnership, the Zambian Government began developing an Integrated Water Resources and Water Efficiency Plan for sustainable management of the country’s water resources.
The Ethiopian Country Water Partnership and GWP Eastern Africa have implemented an IWRM pilot project in the Berki River Basin to establish a framework and to promote the application of IWRM at the catchment level.
On behalf of GWP China, Ms. Ma Yilin, Programme Officer of GWP China Secretariat, participated in the training course of the Post-quake Rural Water Supply Facilities Evaluation and Capacity Building Project which was organized by Shaanxi Project Management Office (PMO) on June 11, 2010.
At the invitation by UKDFID Beijing Office, Mr. Zheng Rugang, Coordinator of GWP China, attended Summary Meeting of China-UK Water Demand Management Project. The organizers of the meeting also invited representatives from World Bank, UNDP, EU-China River Basin Management Project, Australia- China Environmental Management Project and some project pilot provinces.
On July 26-27, 2010, GWP China Shaanxi organized the Dialogue on Groundwater Development and Utilization.
