A technical workshop was held from 20 October to 3 November 2022 in Koubri to finalize the modules and other materials for the 5th online course. The distance or e-learning includes different courses covering the whole value chain of the end-to-end early warning system for flood forecasting (E2E-EWS-FF) and the three pillars of drought management. The latest Transboundary Freshwater Security Governance online event, ‘Indigenous people in the governance of transboundary waters,’ was held on 15 September 2022. More than 80 participants from around the world took part in the interactive session to explore how to better involve indigenous people in the governance of transboundary waters.
The Global Water Leadership in a Changing Climate programme (GWL) has held multi-stakeholder consultations in seven countries identifying the most critical barriers to climate-resilient water management. Working groups have now been formed to investigate these barriers and develop responses, beginning with a ‘root cause analysis’. Updates from three countries follow.
