On 11 December, GWP is co-curating the 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 at COP28 in the #Water4Climate Pavilion together with the Green Climate Fund and French Water Partnership.
The Pungwe River basin, shared by Zimbabwe and Mozambique, is rich in plant and animal diversity. However, the ecosystem is now under threat from human activities. In 2023, Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) commissioned an Environmental Flow (EFlows) assessment to understand how the Pungwe River Basin and its ecosystems work, the findings of which will help in managing the river and protecting its natural environment.
GWP China Senior TEC Advisor, Guoliang CHEN, former Chair of GWP China Fujian and member of the Standing Committee of the ninth Fujian Provincial People's Congress, donated his publication "Drink Water from The Same River - 23 Years of Water Sharing Between Fujian & Taiwan" to the Fujian-Taiwan Museum in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, late February 2022.
Representatives of government ministries, private sector, civil society, and research organisations met in Yaoundé under the umbrella of a stakeholder consultation organized by GWP-Cameroon in collaboration with the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy (MINEE) on March 23rd, 2023 to verify and finalize the country’s score on the AIP scorecard.

The Mono Basin Authority (MBA) held a workshop to validate the report document of the new strategic plan 2023-2027 of the basin. The meeting took place on October 18 to 20, 2022 in Grand Popo (Benin). The official ceremony was led by Mr. Christophe Mègbédji, prefect of the department of Couffo and chair of the Mono Basin Management Committee in Benin.
The adoption and implementation of IWRM is part of a far-reaching reform of the country's water management.
