The annual training course of liaison officers who are responsible for foreign affairs, and overseas visits, organized by the Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology, Ministry of Water Resources, was taken place on August 18 and 19, 2010, Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province.

The Wenchuan Earthquake on May 12, 2008 in Sichuan Province affected a large area and population in the province and the neighboring provinces particularly the Shaanxi and Gansu provinces, and it also jeopardized the water supply facilities, particularly, in rural areas. The reconstruction of the rural water facilities is one of key projects of Chinese government.

Global Water Partnership China Hebei, abbreviation: GWP China Hebei. It was founded in October 2003 and since then has been played as a network which promotes IWRM and sustainable use of water resources.

The GWP network adopts multi-year strategies approved by the Partners. To implement the current strategy, 3-year work programmes and annual workplans have been developed that are approved by the global Steering Committee. In a breakthrough for water, the 7th African Development Forum held in Addis Ababa in October put water on the infrastructure agenda alongside energy, transport and communications. This marked a turning point in overcoming resistance to large water projects stemming from negative perceptions of social and environmental impacts.

In 2008, the Sri Lanka Water Partnership (SLWP) began working with the Water Integrity Network (WIN) to fight corruption surrounding illicit and unregulated river sand mining.
