There is a decline in the capacity of institutions within the SADC region to produce data for decision making and negotiations. It is, therefore, imperative to develop institutions’ data management capacities as a means of improving the adequacy, quality, and quality of data for decision making in transboundary water management.

The 2022 network meeting was held earlier compared to the previous session. The meeting was held after the event of Regional Days with a hybrid format. The Regional Chairs, Regional Coordinators, Regional Communications Officers, Regional programme managers and GWP Global Secretariat staff who are in Stockholm participated according to the topics discussed in the breakout group session.
The 1st meeting in 2023 of the Indonesia Water Coalition (IWC) was held at Pusat Suaka Satwa Elang Jawa to discuss the plan and budgeting. Carried out on 6 February 2023, the event also includes planting 9 trees as a symbol of the IWC's mission to support water conservation.

Project to support the operationalization of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) to strengthen resilience to climate change in transboundary basins in West Africa (PAGIREC- AO), this is the title of the funding request whose validation of the detailed request motivated the restricted technical regional workshop organized on December 14 and 15, 2023 in Ouagadougou by the Department of Agriculture, Water Resources and Environment (DAREN) of the WAEMU Commission, in collaboration with the Water Resources Management Centre (CGRE) of the ECOWAS Commission and the Global Water Partnership in West Africa (GWP-WA).
Among the major advances in the implementation of IWRM and the national effort to finance the management and protection of water resources in Burkina Faso, we can cite the adoption and implementation of the Financial Contribution for Water (CFE). It is well known that one of the challenges in all developing countries is the mobilization of resources to finance the sustainable management of water resources.
