This documentary series, "Bridging Waters", explains the importance of transboundary water management in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC).

Dedication to consultation and communication paid off in 2010 as policy makers established and consolidated a relationship with researchers in the Challenge Programme on Water and Food (CPWF) in the Limpopo River Basin.

The Regional Conference on Advancing Non-Conventional Water Resources Management in the Mediterranean was organized by the Hellenic Ministry for Environment, Energy and Climate Change, the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean, the Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean and the System of Coca-Cola in Greece (Coca-Cola HBC Greece and Coca-Cola Hellas) with the environmental program ‘Mission Water’.

As a global action network, GWP reaches out to a wide range of stakeholders in order to bring about changes to the way water resources are managed. Ideally, institutions join GWP as a Partner in order to enjoy the full range of benefits. It is possible that some institutions are not able to join. Nevertheless, GWP still wants to work in close partnership with as many institutions as possible that share our vision for a water secure world. To that end, we have Strategic Allies. This paper explores the role that IWRM needs to play in climate change adaptation. It outlines the social, economic and environmental impacts of climate change; the challenges it poses for water resources management; the actions needed to address those challenges; and approaches to financing IWRM for climate change adaptation. This is a Technical Background Paper, written by the GWP Technical Committee, a group of internationally recognised professionals in integrated water resources management.
