GWP-WA signed on February 19, 2021 with the Regional Office of the IUCN Program for Central and West Africa (IUCN-PACO) an agreement to support the implementation in 2021 of the project titled "Regional Partnership on Water and Environment in Central and West Africa (PREE)", with the financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

In response to this, GWP-Central Africa organized a multi-stakeholder consultation in Mbalmayo, Cameroon on February 22nd to test the gender checklist developed by the Global Water Partnership (GWPO) under its SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme.

Three response strategies to Malawi's major challenges in the water sector were presented and approved by the country's Sector Working Group for WASH on Wednesday, 7 February 2023.The meeting, which was attended by representatives from various players in the sector, took place at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe. The three response strategies are addressing the sector’s major challenges, including inadequate financing and investments, lack of political will and leadership and weak coordination.

Albania has just started implementing new technologies aimed at improving wastewater management and as such promoting sustainable development. A two-day workshop on Wastewater Management in the context of Circular Economy that was organised in the framework of the SEE Nexus project in July in Albania provided participants with theoretical input but also first hand experience on the issue.
