The Government of Botswana has commended the Southern African Development Community (SADC) for championing an integrated approach to dealing with challenges in water, food, and energy, which is proving efficient and effective.
"The Green Deal for a Sustainable Future" was the theme of the 2021 digital edition of the European Development Days (EDD21) on 15-16 June, a European Commission event. GWP was represented at a high-level panel on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and at a discussion on the role of water as a connector in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Both discussions highlighted integration between sectors as key to improving water governance.

Engr. Quamrul Islam Siddique was a prominent alumnus of the Department of Civil Engineering who is a freedom fighter, leader and a modern architect of rural infrastructure development in Bangladesh. He played the leading role in establishing of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) in its present form. He died of on 1 September 2008 at the age of 63.
