In 2020, Global Water Partnership (GWP) in collaboration with The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) together with UNEP-DHI Centre and Cap-Net, operates the SDG 6 IWRM Support Program, to support 60 countries in implementing the survey.
February 21, 2022, Global Water Development, a youth capacity building programme, was initiated in Beijing. Hosted by the Department of Water of Tsinghua University and supported by GWP China and GWP WAY, the programme manages to help undergraduate students of Tsinghua explore their knowledge and related tools.

Water Europe is organising the online edition of Water Innovation Europe 2021 (WIE) on 14-18 June, under the theme "EU Water-Smart Society for Global Leadership".
A historical reservoir of 800,000 litres was restored for rainwater harvesting to service the sustainable development vision of Birgu City, which becomes Malta’s first Water Saving City, marking 10 years of collaboration between GWP-Med, The Coca-Cola Foundation, Malta’s Ministry for Energy, Enterprise and Sustainable Development, the Energy and Water Agency and local stakeholders. Over 10 years, non-conventional water resources applications under the Alter Aqua programme have saved more than 20 million litres of water annually, benefiting 20% of Malta’s population.
GWP SAS WAY Programme is planned from 25 September to 30 November 2022 with the theme “Riverscapes and Riverine Ecosystems”. We are calling applications from eligible youth (18-35 years old) from the region to participate to the training.
The Chad Country Water Partnership (GWP-Tchad) becomes the 5th and final Country Water Partnership within the GWP- Central Africa Network to be accredited.
The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean Water Academy for Youth (GWP-C WAY) is back! The 2023 edition of the Academy aims to build on the first, launched in 2021.
