It’s been called the African COP, the Adaptation COP, the Implementation COP, the Solutions COP, and the Development COP. Clearly, there is a lot riding on the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) this 6–18 November. It marks the 30th anniversary of the Convention’s adoption, but also a new and difficult phase in global climate action.
Water security is key for Zambia’s sustainable and climate-resilient development. Water security is a critical factor for Zambia to achieve its developmental aspirations as outlined in Vision 2030 and other policy documents. A Technical Workshop on “Training for Key Climate Finance Programming Stakeholders on GCF Project Development in Sri Lanka” was organised from 20-25 February 2023 at the Yellow River Auditorium, IWMI, Sri Lanka.
GWP celebrates 25 years in 2021, and we are introducing the anniversary website gwp25years.org. The launch took place in connection to the GWP Regional Days (31 May-3 June), an annual gathering of GWP’s staff worldwide. The new website is a place to capture the collective celebration of what the network has achieved so far, and to look to the future. It is a place where everyone is invited to share messages and where they can be part of the journey to make good water governance a reality for everyone.
