The Global Water Partnership Malawi took the conversation on water and sanitation in developing countries to the global stage when it discussed at the World Water Week in Stockholm, the need for WASH project implementers to involve all stakeholders, including project beneficiaries, in the identification of solutions to the challenges being faced.

The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, H.E. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, on 11 March 2022 formally launched the Zanzibar Water Investment Programme, which will mobilise over USD665.5million between 2022-2027 towards securing clean and sustainable water supply for the island’s population and fast-growing economy.

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) is convening its working group on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and working group on Monitoring and Assessment under the Water Convention in a meeting on 26-28 April.

The Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on transboundary freshwater security opened in August 2020. A year on, the MOOC has attracted over 2,300 participants from 150 countries, and the course is confirmed for another year on the same platform – with more language versions in the making to reach an even greater audience, and with more interactive events to engage participants. Chinese video subtitles are already available, and several other translations are under preparation.

The third from the webinar series focuses on the issue of "Provision of clean and safe water for emergency response and remote areas".

In February, Youth for Water and Climate Programme organized a live meeting in Budapest, Hungary.

From 04 to 07 January 2022, the CWP Senegal (PNES) through its Chair has carried out a mission to Matam in the framework of the implementation of the component : "Hydro-agricultural development and protection of water resources", of the development program of the Dioulol watershed implemented by the National Company for the Development and Exploitation of the lands of the Senegal River Delta (SAED) through activities to fight against the silting up of the Dioulol river, which constitutes the source of water for a large number of perimeters including Hamady Ounaré and Orkadiérè rehabilitated during the first phase of the project.

GWP-SEA Regional Secretariat is very glad to share with you on the distinction that was given to Manila Water as the Water Company of the Year in the highly coveted 2022 Global Water Awards as part of the 2022 Global Water Summit held in Madrid, Spain.

The 1st meeting in 2023 of the Indonesia Water Coalition (IWC) was held at Pusat Suaka Satwa Elang Jawa to discuss the plan and budgeting. Carried out on 6 February 2023, the event also includes planting 9 trees as a symbol of the IWC's mission to support water conservation.
