World Water Day is commemorated on 22 March - an annual UN observance to focus attention on the global water crisis. This year’s theme is 'Valuing Water', exploring what water means to people, its value and how we can protect this essential life resource. GWP South Asia, the global GWP office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Netherlands are organising a regional webinar on experiences and lessons at country level.

Recognising the value of rainwater, greywater and recycled wastewater as a resource rather than a waste product, GWP Mediterranean’s Non-Conventional Water Resources (NCWR) Programme has proven to be a cost effective method of increasing local water availability and climate resilience in water scarce Mediterranean islands.

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) has promoted rainwater harvesting (RWH) as a viable and cost-effective response to water scarcity for many years.

The 9th session of the meeting of the Parties to the UN Water Convention was organized from 29 September to 1 October 2021. On this occasion, GWP-Med had the opportunity to present the breath of its work on transboundary water management, the water-energy-food-ecosystems Nexus approach as well as the role of women in promoting transboundary water cooperation, during the MOP9 meeting and in several side events.
