The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa and Africa Coordination (GWPSA-Africa) wishes to congratulate the Zambian Government on the unveiling of a solid 2023 National Budget.
The implementation of the project "Water for Growth and Poverty Reduction in the Mekrou sub-basin of Niger" (Mekrou Phase 2-Niger Project), financed by the European Union, has made significant progress in the area covered by the project, namely the communes of Tamou and Kirtachi in the Tillabery region and Falmey in the Dosso region.
The 2021 edition of GWP's annual Network Meeting of Partners will take place online on 1-2 December, under the theme ‘Leading Change and Innovation through our Partners.’
Malawi has finalised the development of response strategies meant to address major challenges rocking the water and sanitation sector in the country. The strategies were being developed with the guidance of the country’s Ministry of Water and Sanitation, under the Global Water Leadership Programme (GWL) which the Global Water Partnership is implementing with funding from FCDO.
On the occasion of the 2023 SDG Summit in New York, 18-19 September, the Transboundary Water Cooperation Coalition calls Member States and all relevant stakeholders to act to protect and better manage transboundary waters in all basins and connected coastal systems worldwide.
The validation workshop of the Benin gender and climate change action plan (PAGCCB) 2023-2025 was held at Grand-Popo in Benin, on July 28 and 29, 2022. The official ceremony was chaired by Mr. BIAO MONGAZI Wilfried, Director of Climate Change Management (DGCC) of the Ministry of Living Environment and Sustainable Development (MCVDD), who recalled the need for Benin to adopt the PAGCCB and welcomed the realization of this project, which is important to Benin.
The 8th Africa Water Week (AWW8) and the 6th Africa Conference on Sanitation and Hygiene (AfricaSan6) are being jointly organised this year as a virtual conference on 22-26 November. Joined together as the Africa Water and Sanitation Week (AWSW), the conference is convened by the African Ministers Council on Water (AMCOW) in conjunction with the African Union Commission and organised with other development partners.
GWP CEE Regional Coordinator, Konstantin Ivanov, gave a welcome speech and participated at the international scientific and practical online conference dedicated to World Water Day.
