From Thursday 6 to Friday 8 July 2022, a regional workshop was held in Lomé to train stakeholders from the member countries of the Volta Basin Authority on the MyDewetra-VOLTALARM forecasting system. This regional workshop, organised by the implementing partners of the consortium including VBA, GWP-WA and IUCN was a follow-up to the one held from 04 to 05 July 2022 on the finalisation of the development of a regional programme focusing Nature-based Solutions (NBS) in the Volta Basin.

Water is life, we say, and it really connects to everything … If water is connected to everything, we have to act on that, but we shy away from the real understanding of what water means … either because of its complexity … or because it is connected to past practices and vested interests.”
The implementing teams of the Continental Africa Water Investment Programme (AIP) on gender transformative water climate and development Program (AIP WACDEP-G) aiming at promoting gender equality through climate resilient water investment had a coordination meeting in Lusaka, Zambia from 15 to 17 November 2022.

To promote a climate-resilient approach to the management of water resources in the Central African Republic, GWP-Central African Republic (CWP-CAR), in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy Development and Water Resources, organized a two-day multi-stakeholder workshop on May 4–5 in Bangui to popularize and promote the ownership of existing strategy and policy documents in the country’s water and climate sectors.

At the U.N.’s Stockholm+50 Conference, GWP and partners explored how the concept of water alignment can enable transformation across stakeholders and sectors, strategies, political leadership, finance, and action, with water as a central driver for sustainable development and climate resilience.
