The 2017 statutory meetings of GWP CAf were held in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, with the Steering Committee meeting on the 12th and 13th of December 2017 and the General Assembly on the 14th December 2017.

Three main objectives guided the workshop's work: (1) to revitalize the Network, (2) to rework MAYI magazine issue 2, and (3) to revise the regional communication strategy of GWP CAf.
The GWP CAf and the UNESCO Regional Multisectoral Office for Central Africa, in collaboration with ECCAS, organized from 8 to 10 November 2017, a capacity-building workshop on IWRM and climate resilience in the context of transboundary catchment basins, in the case of transboundary catchment basins.
The Country Water Partnership of Sao Tome participated in the 13th Scientific Symposium on Hydraulics and Water Resources of Portuguese speaking countries (SILUSBA), held from 13th to 15th September 2017 in Portugal.
The Ministry of Water and Energy (MINEE) of Cameroon, in collaboration with GWP Cameroon, organized on 28th September 2017, a workshop on the "Degree of implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (SDG indicator 6.5.1)" in Cameroon as part of the process of supporting Cameroon in monitoring and reporting on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, specifically target 6.5: “By 2030, implement integrated water resources management at all levels, including through transboundary cooperation as appropriate”.
GWP Cameroon and UNICEF signed a collaboration agreement on 23 March 2017 to implement the project "Improving the resilience of WASH services in the Mayo Tsanaga sub-basin through pilot initiatives".
GWP Central Africa (GWP-CAf) carried out a working visit to the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) from 29 August to 01 September 2017 in Libreville, Gabon. The main objective of this visit was to strengthen collaboration between the two structures, which signed a Memorandum of Understanding in April 2017.
