The project kick-off meeting was organized on 1 October 2022 in hybrid form in Dilijan, Armenia.
The meeting was held back-to-back with GWPO workshop “GWP Toolbox - IWRM Action Hub Learning Lab, between 30 September and 1 November, with the motto: “Towards and Integrated Drought Management Strategy for Armenia”. The date was proposed by the Armenian partner due to the difficult political situation on the border with Azerbaijan, and possibility to gather state administration representatives.
The project partners discussed objectives, deliverables and inputs to the needs related to the Drought Management in Armenia.

Together, 21 representatives of five ministries and 15 departments or state agencies, including intergovermantal Working Group on Drought, and four GWPO representatives, incl. Climate Hub, IWRM Action Hub were present.
Additionally, two Global IDMP represetatives – GWPO and WMO, and four CWP Armenia representatives, and Visegrad Partners joined the meeting.
What was done
After the opening of the Kick-off and welcoming of all online and live participants, and project partners, Anna Smetanova,GWP CEE Project Manager, briefly presented IDMP CEE. Afterwards CWP Armenia Chair Arevik Hovsepyan presented state of and recent progress in the drought management in Armenia.
From this background showing the previous fruitful cooperation in V4, Mrs. Smetanova presented the project and mentioned the funding. She has emphasized the aim of the Funding and its focus and how it related to the project goals. Mrs. Smetanova then presented the activities and management of the project.
Each project partner and DMSCEE experts prepared presentation of possible knowledge and tools to transfer related to project activities. Afterwards, facilitated discussion related to Activity 2 and Activity 3 envisaged content, in relation to the Ministries and Drought working Group Priorities followed.
