Call for nominations of GWPSA Regional Board Member

The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) seeks to fill one position on the Regional Board.

The Board seeks individuals with expertise in any of the following areas:

  1. Strategic Planning
  2. Corporate Governance
  3. Finance, Human Resources
  4. Legal, Institutional Development
  5. Climate Change, Blue Economy, Agriculture Development
  6. Gender, Youth, and social inclusion
  7. Fund Raising

Applications are invited from interested professionals with experience in Board leadership and strategic management. Professionals willing to be part of a dynamic and growing organization and network are encouraged to apply. GWP registered partners are encouraged to nominate interested candidates from member institutions.

Nomination Process                                                  

The nomination process is guided by Article 8 (2) of the GWPSA Constitution:

  1. Interested candidates from member institutions will send their CVs to the GWPSA Secretariat with a duly completed Nomination Form .
  2. The completed Nomination Form should be submitted to GWPSA using the contacts on the form.
  3. All applications will be reviewed by the GWPSA Search Committee. As per the GWPSA Constitution, the GWPSA Board (Regional Steering Committee) has established a Search Committee consisting of the members of the Board Governance sub-committee and the Regional Executive Secretary.
  4. The Search Committee will oversee the nomination, short-listing, and selection processes.
  5. The Search Committee will select the three highest caliber candidates that will be presented to the GWPSA Board for consideration.
  6. The GWPSA Board will present the name of the selected candidate for final adoption by GWPSA Partners during the GWPSA Consulting Partners Meeting.
  7. The GWPSA Partners will consider the selected candidate and pass a Resolution for adoption by the CP.
  8. If adopted, the nominated candidate will join the GWPSA Board and will serve for a four-year term from December 2021 - December 2025.

Interested candidates from GWPSA member institutions will send their CVs to the GWPSA Secretariat. The GWPSA search committee looks forward to receiving nominations by Friday 10 December 2021. Kindly find requirements and responsibilities of the GWPSA Board Members on Annex 1 on the Call for nominations . 

Applicants must complete the nomination form attached and include a Curriculum Vitae (max 5 pages). Nominations without CVs will not be considered.
