The consultation was organised by Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) upon the request of HELP with the main focus of collecting comments on proposed Principles on Investments and Financing for water-related disaster risk reduction, and to gain regional perception on effective disaster response mechanisms.
Altogether 29 participants representing GWP Country Water Partnerships, GWP, International Water Management Institute (IWMI), delegates from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Japan Water Forum, HELP and Ministry of Disaster Management, Sri Lanka attended the consultation. Seven countries - Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Japan, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka were present at the meeting.
