Strengthening national policies for improving water use and limiting water pollution in key industrial sectors in Asia

The ongoing workshop (on 21 February 2019) is organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand.

The workshop on strengthening national policies for improving water use and limit water pollution in key industrial sectors in Asia aims at strengthening the national capacity in developing countries to design environmental policies for improving water use and limit water pollution in key industrial sectors through developing regional networks for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, lessons learned and good practices. It will bring together government officials and non-governmental stakeholders from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Pakistan and Vietnam, policy experts from China, relevant sustainable development partners and environmental and pollution control experts, as well as the partners of United Nations. Dr Azharul Haq, Regional Chair, GWP South Asia is also invited and attending the workshop representing the non-governmental stakeholders of Bangladesh.
