A Young Water Professionals Symposium (YWPS) under the theme of “Towards a water secure future” was organised by the Sri Lanka Water Partnership (SLWP) with the sponsorship of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and Unilever Sri Lanka.

A trained session was organized on 21 and 23 November 2016 by the Country Water Partnership of Benin to strengthen the capacity of its staff and some representatives of the CWP bodies on procurement issues in Benin.

Many participants from West African countries took part in the International Water Law training in Kampala (Uganda) from 6 to 12 June 2016.

GWP will receive £9 million in funding from the UK's Department for International Development, through to 2015. The UK’s Water Security Programme was announced at the climate change negotiations in Doha at COP 18 by the UK Secretary of State, Edward Davey, on Tuesday, December 4, 2012.

We are looking for young activists to join forces for water & climate! Five awards of €1,000 each are available for youth-led projects which are based on the white paper recommendations made at COP21.

On December 22, 2016, Mr. Wei Shanzhong, the Commissioner of the Yangtze River Commission, Mr. Jia Hujun, Vice Commissioner, Mr. Jin Xingping, Chief Engineer and other leaders of the Commission paid a visit to Mdm. Cai Qihua, Chair of GWP China.

The Ghana Country Water Partnership (CWP-Ghana) was represented by the Communications Officer at a one-day seminar under the theme “Our Water, Our Life: Ghana’s Water Resources in Crisis.” This seminar was organised by the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) at the conference room of the Science and Technology Research Institute of the CSIR on 19^th April, 2016.

 

GWPSA participated in the 24^th Water Resources Committee (WRTC) meeting held on 7-8 May in Lusaka, Zambia. The WRTC delegates comprise directors of water departments in SADC member states and SADC implementing and co-financing agencies of the RSAP 3. GWPSA was present as an implementing partner of the Regional Water Climate Change Adaptation Strategy. Mr. Andrew Takawira, GWPSA Senior Programmes Manager, participated in the meeting and gave a presentation on GWPSAs upcoming activities in support of the RSAP 3, with specific mention to supporting Climate Change Adaptation in the Sector.   

The December 7th, 2010 saw summing up and commending meeting marking 10th anniversary of “Water Cellar for Mothers” Project, which was launched by the China Women's Development Foundation, in the National Indoor Stadium in Beijing.

IWRM has been implemented in China since it was founded at both provincial and country levels. The cases present the utilization of IWRM ToolBox tools in different provinces and areas. All of them are collected into GWPO ToolBox database to share with others around the world.
