On 12-13 December 2022, a regional workshop was held on the theme: "Increasing investments for water security and climate resilience in West Africa: achievements, challenges and opportunities". The regional event was both face-to-face and online for stakeholders from the regional level and other West African countries.
The Continental Africa Water Investment Programme - Gender Transformative Water, Climate and Development (AIP WACDEP-G) Programme has brought to the fore the need for African governments to address issues of gender inequality if they are to effectively achieve water security and climate resilience.
The Regional Council (RC) meeting is the annual governance meeting of Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) held from 9-10 November 2022 in Negombo, Sri Lanka. The two-day planning and progress review meeting was hosted by the Regional Chair, Ms Kusum Athukorala with the support of the GWP SAS Regional Secretariat. The Central African Republic Country Water Partnership (GWP-CAR) in collaboration with the country's Ministry of Energy Development and Water Resources, launched the Global Water Leadership in a Changing Climate (GWL) Program during a national multi-stakeholder workshop held in Bangui from June 22nd – 24th 2022.
GWL is a global initiative that aims to support emerging countries, including CAR to improve their, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene services and strengthen climate resilience while bridging the gap between IWRM and WASH.
