As a 32-year-old raised and living in Tunisia and a GWP-Med team member working on its MENA agenda, Dr Sondos Njoumi has a unique insight into youth and women’s mindset in relation to sustainability efforts for environmental and water issues.
Last year the global pandemic exposed how current governance systems are inadequately prepared to address systemic challenges that threaten humanity. Better preparedness can make communities more resilient to large scale threats. On 2 June, GWP launched a report, “Mobilising Change: 10 years of climate resilient water investments”, which is a contribution to implementing transformative development to solve climate change challenges to water security.
Dr. Agnes Kalibata, UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy to the Food Systems Summit; and Gilbert F. Houngbo, UN-Water Chair and President of the International Fund for Agriculture Development, are convening an online global dialogue on water on 27 April.

Placing women, water and diplomacy in the same sentence, often enough causes reactions that include head-scratching and eyebrow-raising; the link among them is not easily -nor well- understood.
