The Water Dialogues for Results are an initiative by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), on behalf of the German government. On 1 July, the results of the international water dialogues is presented in form of a High-Level Conference on SDG 6 in Bonn. H.E. Mr. Jakaya Kikwete, Chair of GWP South Africa, is one of the speakers.

During periods of flooding people suffer all manner of deprivations, with access to clean water being among the first things to go. Since the original Rio Earth Summit in 1992, floods, droughts, and storms have affected 4.2 billion people (UNISDR 2012), with the impact on sanitation processes and hygiene receiving little attention.

The Continental African Water Investment Programme "Water, Climate, Development and Gender Investments" aims to promote gender-transformative planning, decision-making, and institutional development for water secure and climate-resilient water investments and job creation interventions, in order to advance gender equality.

In 2020, Global Water Partnership (GWP) in collaboration with The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) together with UNEP-DHI Centre and Cap-Net, operates the SDG 6 IWRM Support Program, to support 60 countries in implementing the survey.

The "WATER IS IN OUR HANDS" initiative, by FINISH and GWP-Med, aims to raise awareness on water saving, by showcasing practical ways to use water more efficiently.

Kenneth Alfaro Alvarado is Project Cooridinator for Water Pollution Prevention at Nicoya Peninsula Waterkeeper in Costa Rica. The non-profit organisation has been a GWP Partner since 2013 - their motivation to join the GWP network was a wish to participate in the processes around Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). GWP-Med is leading the “Pathways to Impact” Work Package in the Horizon 2020 REXUS project, coordinating communication and dissemination activities. The 1st plenary meeting, which took place on 21 and 27 October 2021, brought together more than 60 participants from over 20 institutions, sharing advances on various pieces of the REXUS ‘jigsaw puzzle’ which is coming together to create new blueprint for applying the Water-Energy-Food-Climate Nexus.
