On 16 and 17 October 2022, Mr. Abdoulaye Sene, Chair of GWP-WA as well as Executive Secretary and Co-Chair of the 9th World Water Forum took part at the Cairo Water Week (CWW).
The GWP Steering Committee members appointed Ms. Jamilla Sealy as Vice-Chair of the committee with immediate effect. Sealy, who joined the committee in December 2020, also holds the first-ever permanent youth seat.
The Volta Flood and Drought Management Project organized in Loumbila, Burkina Faso on October 26 to 29 the field phase to test the methodology and tools proposed for the conduct of the Flood and Drought Risk Vulnerability and Capacity Mapping mission at the community level in the Volta Basin.
A regional training workshop on "Production, marketing and use of organic fertilizers for climate change adaptation and youth employability: opportunities, methods and tools" was held in Natitingou on 15 and 16 September 2022.

This is high time to honour the founders of our network as the strong foundation they have laid out was stable enough to develop this strong network now with six Country Water Partnerships and more than 400 institutional partners. Therefore, we have decided to bring their voices together on this page as a gratitude to the people who have reshaped policies and water decisions in their countries and spent their energy shed their sweat to ensure a "Water Secure South Asia".
GWPSA received news of Michael Mutale’s passing on 20 June 2021 with deep shock. Michael’s dedication, passion, commitment and contribution to the water sector is well known within the SADC region, Africa, and globally. We have lost a true patriot, committed professional, and a dedicated champion of water.
