Water Dialogues for Results High-Level Conference

The Water Dialogues for Results are an initiative by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), on behalf of the German government. On 1 July, the results of the international water dialogues is presented in form of a High-Level Conference on SDG 6 in Bonn. H.E. Mr. Jakaya Kikwete, Chair of GWP South Africa, is one of the speakers.

Protecting and Conserving  Ewaso Ng’iro North River Basin in Kenya

Kenya Water Partnership coordinated the development of a Catchment-wide Action Plan for the Protection and Conservation of the Ewaso Ng’iro North River Basin. The action planning is part of the pilot project launched by UNEP, GWP and Cap-Net focusing on three target countries (Kenya, Kazakhstan and Argentina)

The right to safe water in Southeast Asia

The human right to safe water is fundamental to leading a life with dignity. It is indivisible from, and the foundation for, achieving many other internationally recognised human rights. Yet approximately 844 million people live without access to safe water worldwide. Around 110 million of those people live in Southeast Asia (hereafter ASEAN).

World Wetlands Day 2022

Every year on February 2nd, World Wetlands Day is commemorated to promote awareness of wetlands. The celebration of World Wetlands Day in 2022 is especially significant, as the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 75/317 on August 30, 2021, establishing February 2 as World Wetlands Day.
