The SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme is inviting integrated water resources management (IWRM) professionals and experts to embark on a learning journey focused on Innovative Financing for Water Security through an IWRM approach taking place in the newly created SDG 6 IWRM Community of Practice.

Two years of intensive work undertaking joint efforts to increase water management adaptation to climate change in Central Europe is in the final stage.

The 2021 edition of the European Development Days (EDD21) will take place on 15-16 June. The event is fully digital, and the theme is "The Green Deal for a Sustainable Future". On the first day, the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, which GWP coordinates in partnership with UNEP, UNEP-DHI Centre and Cap-Net UNDP, will be featured in a session on "Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) to accelerate progress on the SDGs". Registration for all sessions is now open.

GWP-Med is leading the communication and dissemination component in this new H2020 project which aims to close the gap between science and policy in natural resources management. The REXUS project is bringing the Water-Energy-Food Nexus concept to an operational level as a tool for analysis, planning and decision-making, through an innovative integrated approach applied in 5 pilot sites across Europe and Latin America.

GWP China Senior TEC Advisor, Guoliang CHEN, former Chair of GWP China Fujian and member of the Standing Committee of the ninth Fujian Provincial People's Congress, donated his publication "Drink Water from The Same River - 23 Years of Water Sharing Between Fujian & Taiwan" to the Fujian-Taiwan Museum in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, late February 2022.

The Benin WACDEP-G team together with the CWP hold on 7 December 2021 a workshop to validate the report on the development of a shared vision on gender transformative approach in Benin. The event took place in Grand Popo with main partners including the Directorate general of environment and climate (DGEC), the FNEC, the NDA, focal points of various ministries, CSOs in gender promotion and consultants.

From November 29 to December 03 in Porto-Novo, Benin, the Country Water Partnership, and the WACDEP-G in Benin organized a national training workshop for key actors on how to access the GCF funding.

For the 2nd of the series, we bring you the innovative technology that will allow us to provide water in hard-to-reach territories (granite, hills, deserts), capable to put multiple boreholes on limited areas without charging existing known aquifers. The technology will also allow us to provide high-quality water, ready to drink, with a stable flow rate, that is accessible for long-term needs.
