The 2015 GWP-CAf Media Awards Competition.

Bienvenue GBELO wins the 2015 GWP-CAf Media award on “water and climate change”.

 

Bienvenue GBELO, a journalist reporter for Radio Ndeke Luka in Bangui, Central African Republic wins the Global Water Partnership-Central Africa Media Award on “Water and Climate change” 2015. As winner of media competition launched by GWP-CAf on February 1st 2015, he was awarded a certificate, a recorder and cash prize of 500 euros. 

Bienvenue’s submission was based on the theme “Drinking water still a rare commodity in Bangui.” The press article looked specifically at water shortage phenomena in the capital city and dryness of certain streams in the neighbourhood/surrounding villages.

Welcome to GWP’s 2016 Network Meeting

The annual GWP Network Meeting will be held on 11 October at 13.00 Central European Time (CET). It is a virtual meeting, to be broadcast on the GWP website www.gwp.org – with a special guest message from UN Deputy Secretary General (DSG) Jan Eliasson. Barbados: Collaboration and enforcement - the missing pieces of the puzzle in managing the Graeme Hall Swamp (# 477)

The Graeme Hall Swamp is linked to the St. Lawrence Lagoon and is the last remaining coastal wetland in Barbados. The wetland has been designated as a Natural Heritage Conservation Area and has also been established as one of two Caribbean Coastal Marine Productivity Programme (CARICOMP) monitoring sites in Barbados. The Graeme Hall Watershed, located in the south of Barbados, spans 1,156 acres. The most significant element of this watershed is the Graeme Hall Swamp.

Network Officer of GWPO visits GWP China Regional Secretariat

On September18 and 19, 2014, in Beijing, the Senior Network Officer Angela Klaeusen visited the Secretariat of the GWP China to conduct a two-day working meeting for reviewing the progress of GWP China activities in 2014 and preparing the plan of 2015.
