GWP Armenia teamed up with the local government in Parakar, and an engineering consultancy, to implement an affordable solution to prevent the discharge of untreated sewage into the environment. The solution enabled the reuse of treated wastewater which increased the water supply for irrigation, thereby improving agricultural productivity and food security. 

On 26 April 2021, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources in Zambia, in collaboration with GWPSA, convened a kick-off ceremony for the National Adaptation Planning for Climate Resilience (NAP4CR) Project.

The focus of the program is to implement inclusive, climate resilient water policies and strategies in low and middle-income countries, of which Uganda is among. It is being implemented through a strategic collaboration between GWP, UNICEF, SWA, JMP and WHO

It is a global day for celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) Steering Committee announced the appointment of Mr Darío Soto-Abril (pictured) as GWP Executive Secretary, effective March 1, 2021. Soto-Abril joins GWP after serving as Global CEO at Fairtrade International since February 2017.

A technical workshop was held from 20 October to 3 November 2022 in Koubri to finalize the modules and other materials for the 5th online course. The distance or e-learning includes different courses covering the whole value chain of the end-to-end early warning system for flood forecasting (E2E-EWS-FF) and the three pillars of drought management. Four online courses have already been organized from September 2021 to November 2022.

The importance of advancing gender equality and mobilising gender transformative investments to ensure equal opportunities in tackling the impacts of climate change and water insecurity were some of the issues addressed at the AIP-WACDEP-G Tunisia pilot project launch workshop that took place in Beja, Tunisia.

In an ambitious effort to improve climate resilience at community level, GWP teamed up with a broad range of stakeholders to implement a pilot project in a transboundary catchment area. The project showcased the range of activities needed to bring about change: awareness-raising, stakeholder engagement, institutional capacity-building, and integration with government priorities.
