Faculty of Engineering, Pancasila University

Dr. Atie Tri Juniati MT is a Senior Lecturer in the Civil Engineering Study Programme of the Faculty of Engineering at the Pancasila University in Jakarta, Indonesia. She has been involved in many GWP Southeast Asia activities over the years, and she is also a current member of the regional Steering Committee. In this interview, she describes Pancasila University and its partnership with GWP, which began in 2006.

Water Dialogues for Results High-Level Conference

The Water Dialogues for Results are an initiative by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), on behalf of the German government. On 1 July, the results of the international water dialogues is presented in form of a High-Level Conference on SDG 6 in Bonn. H.E. Mr. Jakaya Kikwete, Chair of GWP South Africa, is one of the speakers.

GWP Appoints New Executive Secretary

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) Steering Committee announced the appointment of Mr Darío Soto-Abril (pictured) as GWP Executive Secretary, effective March 1, 2021. Soto-Abril joins GWP after serving as Global CEO at Fairtrade International since February 2017.

Insights offered into Source-to-Sea approach to tackle pollution

The Transboundary Freshwater Security Governance ‘train’ stopped at its second destination in the new season on 19 October, where webinar participants discovered linkages between transboundary freshwater systems and the marine environment in the framework of the Source-to-Sea approach (S2S). This topic was introduced by speakers who provided a comprehensive overview of this approach, and highlighted challenges with possible solutions.

VFDM, Ghana holds last of national technical meetings

The national technical workshop to present the findings and recommendations of the national needs and capacities consultation mission for flood and drought forecasting and warning system in the Volta basin intended to prepare for the development of risk maps and for the establishment of an early warning system for floods and drought was held on 27 and 28 January 2021 in Accra, Ghana. This Accra meeting is the last of the series of 6 workshops.

Updating water data in Benin's NAP

Benin has developed its multi-sectoral National Adaptation Plan (NAP) which covers the eight most vulnerable development sectors, namely Water resources, Agriculture, Health, Energy, Forest ecosystems, Coastal zone, Infrastructures and urban development and, Tourism. This participatory development work benefited from the technical and financial support of GIZ and UNDP.
