August 26-30, 2019, supported by the Global Water Partnership China (GWP China), the Pearl River Water Resources Commission (PRWRC) of the Ministry of Water Resources of China (MWR), on occasion of its 60th anniversary, invited stakeholders from member states under the East Asia Summit (EAS) to Guangzhou for sharing practices and innovations in the estuary management, coastal growth and regional collaborations.
On August 2nd, 2019, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) launched its first ever “Young Caribbean Water Entrepreneurs Shark Tank Competition.” Applications closed on October 15th, 2019 with an overwhelming response from remarkable young people from the Caribbean.
GWP is collaborating with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat and other partners to create a vision and plausible water solutions of a desirable climate-resilient future in 2030 and beyond. The new initiative is called "Water Resilience Frontiers: Pathways for transformational Climate Resilient Water Security in 2030 and Beyond". The initiative is part of the UNFCCC Nairobi Work Programme’s Resilience Frontiers. The UNFCCC is convening a Resilience Lab for the duration of COP25. Dali, 20 December 2018 -- Taking place back to back with the Workshop on Flood Control and Drought Relief Technology of Lancang-Mekong Water Resources Cooperation that was held between 17-20 December, the 2 days workshop provided the participants with a basic skills on carried out a shared vision planning to support the development of joint proposal development for Lancang-Mekong River Basin.
