Dr Jackie King: “We’re Learning the Hard Way That Everything Is Connected”

GWP, GEF IW:Learn and partners are launching a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on “Governance for Transboundary Freshwater Security” at the end of August 2020. The tentative start date is 31 August. The timing coincides with the start of the school year – giving educators the opportunity to build the MOOC into their curricula. One of the MOOC lecturers is Dr Jackie King, who shares a video message on why the MOOC is more relevant than ever. She says that “we are learning the hard way that everything is connected.”

GWP-CAf's statutory members approve its Three-Year Work Programme 2020-2022

The 13th Steering Committee and the 6th General Assembly of GWP-CAf took place in Douala, Cameroon from the 30th of October to the 1st of November 2019 and brought together some 25 participants from Central African’s CWPs and representatives of the member organizations of the statutory bodies.

In the framework of the 25th anniversary of GWP Network, GWP-WA organized its 6th media awards around the theme “"Water Security and Climate Resilience in West Africa: Acting for the Well-Being of the Populations". The winners were made known in a communiqué released on September 25.

Transboundary Water: Options for Settling Disputes

The Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for Governance for Transboundary Freshwater Security has entered its second year, and coinciding with this, the interactive series of sessions that explore related topics resumed on 21 September. Over 100 participants joined the event on the topic of international water law and dispute settlement. The speaker presentations highlighted the complex and long-running nature of international water disputes.
