GWP WA is coordinating the reporting on the SDG 6.5.1 indicator by UNEP through the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme with GWP support in the region. Monitoring and reporting on SDG indicator 6.5.1 in countries are based on a self-assessment survey.
On 27 April, GWP organised a learning exchange on the topic, “IWRM Action Planning to Accelerate Progress on SDG 6”. The event had over 150 participants who shared their experiences on how to accelerate Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) to contribute to the achievement of the water-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

I believed that water is not only a science concern, but to have a better future in water management, all segments of society should collaborate to ensure water access to everyone and to raise awareness about water management and consumption among local communities,” she says. Today, her main motivation in is to ensure environmental justice for everyone. She shares her story in celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD2020).

World Toilet Day is a United Nations Observance on 19 November that celebrates toilets and raises awareness of the 4.2 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation. It is about taking action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation. This year's theme is "Sustainable Sanitation and Climate Change".

After almost five years since the initiation of the administrative process to change its legal status, Country Water Partnership, Cameroon (GWP-Cmr) is now an NGO following a Ministerial Decree n° 00000005 of April 1st 2020. This change in status brings along a number of advantages the possibility to seek direct funding from government ministries and related organizations in order to advance its mission of ensuring water security in Cameroon. The Asia Pacific Water Forum (APWF) Webinar is held once every four months, co-organized by the APWF secretariat and its member. The 13th of the series was held on 2 March 2022, picked the topic from the 2021 GWP and UNEP-DHI joint progress report on the IWRM in the Asia-Pacific Region. The report provides the basis for further regional collaboration to take action on the critical next steps needed to work towards achieving full IWRM implementation by 2030.
