The Danube Water Conference 2018 will be held on 2-3 May in Vienna, Austria and will address European and Global Water challenges in delivering Water services.
The scope and detailed outline of the Phase II Nexus Assessment for the Drin river basin, together with related activities, were presented and discussed in the 7th Drin Stakeholders Conference and 18th Drin Core Group Meeting held in Tirana, Albania on 29-30 January 2020. It follows up on the Phase I Nexus Assessment that was completed in 2019 as part of the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) for the Drin river basin.
The NEPAD Agency and Global Water Partnership (GWP) on 26 November 2018 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate the implementation of priority continental water infrastructure projects within the framework of the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) and the Africa Investment Programme (AIP).
Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) is 1 of 13 Regional Water Partnerships of the Global Water Partnership (GWP). Each year, GWP (the global network) holds its Network Meeting; an opportunity to engage its over 3000 partner organisations in more than 180 countries across the globe.
GWP is collaborating with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat and other partners to create a vision and plausible water solutions of a desirable climate-resilient future in 2030 and beyond. The new initiative is called "Water Resilience Frontiers: Pathways for transformational Climate Resilient Water Security in 2030 and Beyond". The initiative is part of the UNFCCC Nairobi Work Programme’s Resilience Frontiers. The UNFCCC is convening a Resilience Lab for the duration of COP25. After their recruitment as Technical Assistants, the two Young Professionals started the six-month internship on Monday 16th July 2018. The following day, they had an exchange session with the GWP-WA staff in order to get them to know the GWP network better and be familiar with the ongoing and planned actions and projects at regional and country levels.
The HydroConference seeks to create better interfaces between the providers of hydrological services and the users who need such services for a wide range of decision-making in order to generate increased benefits for society. It will be held 7-9 May in Geneva, Switzerland.
CWP Benin is supporting two (2) municipalities of the Pendjari and Mekrou sub-basins in the establishment of Local Water Committees (LWCs) as part of the implementation of the component of component B of the second phase of the Water, Hygiene and Sanitation Programme (ProSEHA2) on the "Promotion of IWRM in the sub-basins of the Mekrou and Pendjari".
