The Development of Humane Action (DHAN) Foundation is a professional development organisation that was founded on 2 October 1997 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. Its collaboration with GWP dates back as far as 1999. This article gives a short overview of the Foundation and its engagement with GWP.

A mission was organized to assess the capacities and needs of national structures for flood and drought forecasting and warning in order to develop integrated, tailored, sustainable and basin-wide solutions to enhance resilience to climate change at local, national and regional levels.

The case study was developed as part of the global Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) that was formally introduced in 2014 in the Southeast Asia Region, and finalized by the second quarter of 2018.

As one of the GWP-SEA country members, Malaysia Water Partnership has been committed to supporting the implementation of WACDEP. Several activities were carried out to support the country’s commitment to addressing the issues of floods and climate change resilience. One of the activities during the first phase of WACDEP is ‘Community flood-proofing and adaptation for climate resilience’ that was done through the demonstration project. The winners of the Youth for Water and Climate #YWC call for youth-led projects (Be Bold. Be Creative. Get Support.) were announced at the GWP COP24 booth on Thursday 6 December together with GWP partner the International Secretariat for Water (ISW), and with youth from Central and Eastern Europe in the audience.

GWP celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) 2019 on 8 March by joining the global campaign #BalanceforBetter that reflects GWP’s commitment to gender equality. GWP also launched its Instagram account in the lead-up to the day to feature the voices of its global network – starting with the voices of those who speak for strengthening the role of women in water management.

On November 10th, 2018 at COP24 – The United Nations Climate Change Conference, the Global Water Partnership (GWP) launched a report entitled “Preparing to Adapt: The Untold Story of Water in Climate Change Adaptation.”

GWP-CAf invites all its Partners to the Annual Network Meeting of GWP Partners 2020, which will take place online on 21-22 October, under the theme ‘Bringing the Change’.

GWP Central America held its annual General Assembly in Costa Rica on April 1, with the participation of 40 partner organisations. The activity was organised as a parallel event during the Latin American Sanitation Conference (LATINOSAN 2019), to integrate partners in the sanitation discussions carried out during the conference.
