The Development of Humane Action (DHAN) Foundation is a professional development organisation that was founded on 2 October 1997 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. Its collaboration with GWP dates back as far as 1999. This article gives a short overview of the Foundation and its engagement with GWP.
The case study was developed as part of the global Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) that was formally introduced in 2014 in the Southeast Asia Region, and finalized by the second quarter of 2018.
As one of the GWP-SEA country members, Malaysia Water Partnership has been committed to supporting the implementation of WACDEP. Several activities were carried out to support the country’s commitment to addressing the issues of floods and climate change resilience. One of the activities during the first phase of WACDEP is ‘Community flood-proofing and adaptation for climate resilience’ that was done through the demonstration project.
