The Summer School „Towards 2030 Agenda: A summer school for climate change, innovation and youth advocacy in water management“ will take place on 1- 6 July 2018 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw, Poland.
The contribution of the youth in bringing the much-needed development in Africa has been applauded by the Namibian Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry, Mr. Abraham Nehemia.
The GWP Latin American International Water Law Training Programme held a successful VIII edition of a regional workshop with focus on La Plata Basin on 26-29 September. It was attended by 23 participants from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama, Paraguay, and Uruguay, most of them from public institutions.
GWP Nigeria held a meeting between the Country Nexus team and the ECOWAS Department for Agriculture, Water and Environment on the 11/9/2017 with the WEFE regional coordinator, Dr. Fabien Hountondji in attendance. Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, 23 August 2017. The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on initiatives related to water resources and human health.
Water is the interconnector of all other sectors; Therefore, it is not possible to support sectors development without understanding the role of water as one of the important development foundation. As important as it is, water is still considered as social goods and do not have value by development actors. This condition has created a very complex challenge for the development of water sector itself. In Asia Pacific region, the complexities of water challenges then urged the establishment of The Asia-Pacific Water Forum (APWF) in Asia Pacific region.
