The SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme was implemented in Mali through the initiative calle "SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF TARGET 6.5 OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL (SDG) 6 ON WATER MANAGEMENT IN MALI." GWP Eastern Africa and four riparian countries – Djibouti, Kenya, Sudan, and Uganda – have received funding from the Adaptation Fund through the Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) to implement the project on “Strengthening Drought Resilience for Smallholder Farmers and Pastoralists in the IGAD Region” - the DRESS-EA project. A formal launch of the project takes place online on 6 October.

On the first day, the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, which GWP coordinates in partnership with UNEP, UNEP-DHI Centre and Cap-Net UNDP, will be featured in a session on "Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) to accelerate progress on the SDGs".
