World Water Week is a global event that brings the international community together to work towards a more water-wise world. This year, World Water Week was themed ‘Seeing the unseen: The value of water’, and took place 23-25 August (online only) and 28 August – 1 September (online and on-site in Stockholm).

The Tisza Office of the Middle Tisza Water Directorate (KÖTIVIZIG) was ceremonially inaugurated on 4 November 2014. Five countries are represented under its mandate: Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Serbia. The Tisza Office team - consisting of Judit Palatinus, Melinda Váci and György Rátfai - present the scope of their work and collaboration with GWP.

To assess progress made in transboundary water cooperation in Cameroon, the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy in collaboration with UNESCO Regional Office for Central Africa and GWP Cameroon organized a two day multi-stakeholder consultation workshop in Mbalmayo, Cameroon from the 3 - 4 September 2020.

The report on the progress on IWRM in the Asia-Pacific region is based on the national consultations held last year to assess the implementation of SDG 6.5.1.

Request for Offers 6/2021/Drin For the provision of Technical assistance to the Project Coordination Unit for the utilization of existing data repository and population of the Drin Information Management System

GWP Zambia was requested by the government to facilitate the development a national Integrated Water Resources Management/Water Efficiency (IWRM/WE) plan. GWP Zambia managed the multi-stakeholder consultations, led an awareness raising campaign, and initiated a capacity building programme – all of which resulted in buy-in from a range of actors. 

The Final AfriAlliance Conference will be held online from 28-30 October, and is hosted by the 21st WaterNet Symposium.

A technical workshop was held from 20 October to 3 November 2022 in Koubri to finalize the modules and other materials for the 5th online course. The distance or e-learning includes different courses covering the whole value chain of the end-to-end early warning system for flood forecasting (E2E-EWS-FF) and the three pillars of drought management. Four online courses have already been organized from September 2021 to November 2022.

To strengthen its network, RECOJAC applied for and obtained special funding from GWP Global Youth Support Program to support one of its partner organizations, PIVJET International, in the execution of a COVID 19 sensitization campaign for youths
