Global Water Partnership Slovakia and UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development and Ecological Awareness, Technical University in Zvolen, Slovakia organise a Conference and National Consultation Dialogue on the SDGs on 23-24 October 2017 in Zvolen, Slovakia.
The Water Management Commission for the Sélingué and Markala reservoirs (CGESM) was in conclave in Sélingué to take stock of the various recommendations of their previous session; namely: the report on the monitoring of the Sélingué hydroelectric dam from 1 to 20 January 2018 and the results of the simulation of storage and filling 2018 of this dam, as well as the monitoring of the management of the Markala dam in response to the water deficit this year.
Objective:
Support governments to create jobs through industrialisation; increased investments in water infrastructure; and integrated urban and rural water and sanitation delivery.
Niger CWP chair led a field mission to monitor and evaluate the impact of the Kankantouti pilot project. With the end of the rainy season the women group has resumed developing the site. They have put back the fence, producing plants in the nurseries and preparing the parcels.
Global Water Partnership (GWP) Africa teamed-up with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), under the implementation of the National Adaptation Plan Global Support Programme (NAP-GSP) to lead the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Regional Training Workshop for Asia on “Mainstreaming Climate Change Adaptation into Water Resources”.

Rabia Faousia OUEDRAOGO is a young student at the International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering (2IE), in her third year of a degree in Water and Sanitation, who completed an internship at the GWP-WA Regional Secretariat from January to March 2019. As part of her activities, she carried out a field visit on 01 March 2019, in the village of Ramitenga, a rural commune of Loumbila. She spoke with young people and women from the beneficiary population about their participation in the activities of the micro-drip irrigation demonstration project initiated as part of the WACDEP Programme in Burkina Faso.
In this article, Ms. Ouédraogo draws lessons from her forty-five-day stay at GWP-WA Regional Secretariat and makes recommendations following the field mission.
Celebrating of the World Water Day and of the cultural week of schools, the Togolese NGO Association of Young Volunteers in the Service of the Environmental World (AJVSME) gave a communication to the students of the school LES EMERGENTS on the topic: "the students and their environment".
The regional secretariat has organized on 2nd October 2017 a ceremony for the official transfer of services from the outgoing chair, Pr. Abel AFOUDA to the incoming one, Pr. Amadou Hama MAIGA.
