To bridge the gap between the 2019 and 2021 Stockholm World Water Weeks, the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) invited convenors to host a virtual adaptation of their World Water Week 2020-approved sessions between 24 and 28 August. The week goes under the umbrella of #WWWeek At Home. GWP co-convened several sessions.
GWP and Wuhan International Water Law Academy are co-organising an interactive online series called the "Transboundary freshwater security governance train". The series of online engagements sessions is conducted in an approach of a ‘train’ stopping at various locations in the world, with focus on topics related to transboundary freshwater security. At each of the stops, a different topic from the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for Governance for Transboundary Freshwater Security is explored. In the 4th session, the topic is "International Water Law and Climate Change" and it takes place on 20 April.

The Transboundary Freshwater Security Governance Train continues its journey on 19 October, with an 8th interactive session in the series. The topic for this event is the source-to-sea approach in international water law. International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8 every year. The theme for International Women’s Day 2020 is, I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights. The theme is aligned with UN Women’s new multigenerational campaign, Generation Equality, which marks the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.

GWP-WA and CWP Benin organized together with the Executive Directorate of the Volta Basin Authority (VBA), the Ministry of Living Environment and Sustainable Development (MCVDD) of Benin through the General Directorate of the National Environment and Climate Fund (FNEC) and the Directorate General for the Environment and Climate (DGEC) as well as the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEE) through the General Directorate of Water (DGEau) of Benin the workshop for the operational planning and follow-up of the implementation of the WACDEP-G activities in Benin and at regional level for 2021.
