Interview with Mr Ephraim Shitima, Director of the Department of Climate Change and Natural Resources in the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Republic of Zambia.
Jakarta, 26 February 2019 -- The discussion was organized by GWP-SEA partner the Center for Regulation Policy and Governance (CRPG), and Jejaring AMPL (Indonesia’s Water and Sanitation Networks) who also successfully develop a Multi-stakeholder Position Paper on the coming water Resources Law in Indonesia. The Open Government Indonesia (OGI) is part of the global initiative, the Open Government Partnership. The Open Government Partnership (OGP) is a multilateral initiative that aims to secure concrete commitments from national and subnational governments to promote open government, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance.
As part of the UN SDG 6 Data Drive, the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme is substantially scaling up its efforts in 2020 by facilitating 60+ in-country processes across the world to assist national stocktaking and reporting, and more importantly, to support transformative action towards a greater implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).
Joyce Najm Mendez describes herself as a technoxamanist, TEDx lecturer, STEM advocate and social entrepreneur working on the water-energy-food nexus and transboundary cooperation. She is a MSc candidate in Sustainability and Adaptation Planning at the Centre of Alternative Technology, UK, and she has co-founded several organisations in Latin America, tackling mainly sustainability and adaptation-mitigation of climate change. In this article, she shares some of her experiences. She says that “working with young people means investing in the present, and the opportunity for real change in the civilisation paradigm.”
Representatives from Albania, Kosovo*, Montenegro and North Macedonia discussed the risks and impacts of drought and possible management solutions at the 7th Drin Stakeholders Conference.
Organized by the MInistry of Water Resource and Energy and the Cameroon Country Water Partnership (GWP-Cmr), the Republic of Cameroon held a stakeholder consultation on July 23rd 2020 to validate the national report on Sustainable Development Goal indicator 6.5.1 which measures the degree of implementation of Integrated Water Resources (IWRM) .
