SDG 6.2 states “to achieve access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all and end open defecation, paying special attention to the needs of women and girls and those in vulnerable situations”. To contribute to that hygiene education is a necessity in any development programme in order to contribute as well to “end all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere” (SDG5.1).
The meeting of the high-level political forum (HLPF) on sustainable development in 2019 under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council, is held 9-18 July in New York, USA.
We invite you to read the draft strategy and share your thoughts. Comments will be considered and incorporated into the final version of the strategy document, which will be launched in July 2019. The consultation period runs from 6-20 May 2019.
