China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR) is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning, and research, and to developing leaders in water and water relevant sectors who make a difference nationally, regionally or globally. The celebration of World Wetlands Day (WWD) on February 13th, 2019, marked the launch of GEMWET, a MAVA foundation funded project aiming to the conservation and sustainable development of high ecological value of the lagoon of Ghar El Melh in the Governorate of Bizerte in the North of Tunisia.
World Water Day (WWD) is commemorated on 22 March every year. This year’s theme was “Leaving no one behind”. GWP and its Partners worldwide supported the theme by arranging a wide range of activities. Jointly organised by the Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) and the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR), this competition encourages children to take a closer look at their local river, and to reflect on what the environment means to them.
On April 8th, 2019 at the Korea Global Adaptation Week, the Global Water Partnership (GWP) launched the publication “Addressing Water in National Adaptation Plans - Water Supplement to the UNFCCC NAP Technical Guidelines.”
