On the occasion of World Water Day, GWP China Hunan, with a team of volunteers from partner organizations, met elementary students in Yijiawan Center School of Shaoshan County, in Hunan Province. It's a routine of GWP China Hunan to organize "World Water Day" thematic campaign annually. The theme of 2017 is water saving and ecological development.

Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP – Med), as legally and lawfully represented by the civil non-profit society “MEDITERRANEAN INFORMATION OFFICE FOR ENVIRONMENT, CULTURE AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT – MIO-ECSDE” intends to process a call for quotations for “The rehabilitation and maintenance of the stormwater reservoir at the Presidential Palace in Malta” within the framework of the programme “Climate Change Adaptation through Non Conventional Water Resources Management in North Mediterranean Programme (Alter Aqua)”

On 10 October in Slovenia a National Consultation Dialogue on Drought took place for a third time. The event was organised by the Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO) and Global Water Partnership Slovenia in the framework of the Integrated Drought Management Programme in Central and Eastern Europe (IDMP CEE). 

Greywater recycling aims at advancing the use of cost-effective and replicable practices, to ensure water availability and address water scarcity challenges at a local level.

GWP representatives are at the UNFCCC Climate Change Conference in Bonn, Germany, taking place 16-26 May. The focus is on GWP support for the implementation of the Paris Agreement, specifically in relation to the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) from countries, the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) processes, South-South Cooperation, and financing. On Thursday 19 May GWP is co-organising a high level side event together with the Government of Morocco, the UNFCCC Secretariat Adaptation Programme, and GIZ.

Apart from making effort in re-establishing the partnership, Stakeholders in Tanzania have been involved in a number of activities. Recent activities have included:

1. TWP, Ministry of Water and Irrigation sign MoU to promote sustainable management and development of water resources in Tanzania

2. 10th African Ministers' Council on Water (AMCOW) and The 6th Africa Water Week (18-22 July, 2016, Julius Nyrere International Convening Centre, Dar es Salaam

3. Sustainable Development Goals and Water Preparedness Facility (SDG Water-Preparedness Facilities (PF) Project, 2016.

Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe releases today a video lecture on Natural Small Water Retention Measures which is available online for free and open to the public.

Benin is one of the ten new countries included in the WACDEP 2 phase. A process was engaged to develop a project document for the country.

From November 4 to 5, 2015, GWP China Secretariat, in cooperation with GWP China Hebei and Chinese Academy of Press and Publication, with the support of Zhang River Administration that governs all issues related to Zhang River running cross Hebei Province and Henan Province, visited She County of Hebei Province and Linzhou County of Henan Province to get to know how they deal with the challenges of water shortage they faced due to climate change, including water use conflict, integrated  use of  different water resources and harmonious development between water resources and local eco-society.
