GWP’s “Follow-the-Sun” Network Meeting concluded, after 29 hours, on Friday 28 September. The meeting, which was held in 15 consecutive multi-point video conference sessions over two days, engaged over 400 Partners across the world, in nearly 50 countries. The main aim was to seek insight for GWP’s Strategy development, in addition to statutory tasks. “We have a powerful story”, said GWP Executive Secretary Monika Weber-Fahr in her concluding remarks.

A corner of the GWP Southern Africa office in Pretoria, South Africa, houses the headquarters of WHC – short for Water Hygiene Convenience. On 17-18 February, the second regional workshop on transboundary waters, “Understanding the challenges - Planning for regional and transboundary action” was held in Tela, Honduras, to support the establishment of a Regional Dialogue and Community of Practice on Transboundary Waters in Central America.
On 29-30 November 2018, GWPEA organized a media field visit for selected media outlets/practicing journalists drawn from seven media houses to explore further the aspects of drought risk management in Mubende, Uganda and develop stories to be aired in Uganda as well as potential case studies.
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat, with support from Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA), is convening a Regional Workshop on the Regional Water Energy Food (WEF) Nexus Framework and testing the SADC WEF Nexus Investment Project Screening Tool. The workshop is held in Johannesburg, South Africa on 17-18 September 2019.
On September 27 and 28, 2018, the 2018 GWP Network Meeting- ‘Follow the Sun’-was jointly organised by the GWP Regional Water Partnerships (RWP) to enable the network partners from 86 countries to connect and contribute to the GWP new strategy 2020-2025.
The 8th Assembly of Partners took place on 28-29 September 2017 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The theme of this AP was " Water Security in the ECOWAS in the context of SDGs implementation".
