On 17-18 February, the second regional workshop on transboundary waters, “Understanding the challenges - Planning for regional and transboundary action” was held in Tela, Honduras, to support the establishment of a Regional Dialogue and Community of Practice on Transboundary Waters in Central America.

The Lanka Rain Water Harvesting Forum (LRWHF) promotes and fosters research and development in Sri Lanka by disseminating and sharing experiences on rainwater harvesting technology, conservation and utilization methods for solving the water problems of the nation. Dr. Tanuja Ariyananda, CEO of LRWHF, shares an overview of the organisation and its collaboration with GWP.

A new initiative by GWP-Med and Reckitt Benckiser’s Finish aims to promote water saving in remote island communities with limited water resources

Stakeholders in Ghana organized on 29 and 30 April 2024 a national workshop to review the integration of disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA) policies, plans, and guidelines at local, national, and transboundary levels in the Volta Basin.

In July, a 3-part webinar series was held on “Coordinating, Implementing, and Financing National Climate and Water Policy Frameworks”. The series was developed by GWP and Cap-Net, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Alliance for Global Water Adaptation (AGWA), Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), and the Water Governance Facility. The sessions highlighted climate and water linkages in national frameworks such as the National Determined Contributions (NDCs), the National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), and various investment mechanisms.

In a time where peace is on everyone’s lips, this World Environment Day reminds us that we are #GenerationRestoration – the generation that can regrow forests, revive water sources, bring back soils, and, ultimately, make peace with land.
