In March 2021, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) will hold a Caribbean Science Symposium on Water; the first of its kind for the region. Its main theme will be “Building Resilience in the Regional Water Sector to Address Climatological and Hydrological Risks and Threats.”
August 25-30, 2019, GWP had a strong presence at this year’s Stockholm World Water Week (WWW). A large delegation participated in over 30 sessions, and the GWP Strategy for 2020-2025 was launched at a side event. GWP, GEF IW:Learn and Partners have opened a MOOC on “Governance for Transboundary Freshwater Security.” The aim is to bring together countries that share freshwater resources – giving them the skills to cooperate so that the shared resource is managed sustainably for the benefit of each country’s population. The self-paced MOOC is available on the SDG Academy platform - it is free and open to everyone - but especially designed for professionals who manage and make decisions about transboundary waters in ministries and river basin organisations, as well as young professionals and future leaders in transboundary waters, including undergraduate and graduate students.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Mali invited a large Malian delegation to a working and experience-sharing visit to the Netherlands from 27 October to 6 November 2019. The Country Water Partnership (CWP) of Mali represented by the Chair, Mr. Navon CISSE was part of the delegation.
